Bound for Freakshow & Monster Match

At age 13, Kaden Ramos sounds poised to realize his wrestling dreams. Kaden took a short break from practice at the Blackfoot, Idaho branch of the SOT academy to speak with AWP about why he started wrestling, what he envisions for the season, and the circle of people that inspire him.
Wrestling has always been a part of Kaden’s life. His father wrestled in high school and his older brother is also part of the SOT team. Because wrestling had already become a legacy in the Ramos household, it follows that Kaden has been training for more than half of his life –he started at the age of four.
Kaden has already won several RMN events including Freak Show, Who’s Bad?, Wild West, and Rocky Mountain Nationals and he hopes to win Nationals again this season. Despite his talent and winning streak, Kaden is humble when speaking about his parents, calling them his heroes because they “work overtime so I can go to tournaments.” In addition to his parents, Kaden says he draws motivation to train harder from his coach Jacob Eck and from Cornell University wrestler Kyle Dake. Dake has been nominated for an ESPY for best male college athlete and it looks as though Kaden has similar aspirations for his future in college, stating that he’d like to play Division I at Iowa State. When asked what it means to him to compete in RMN events, Kaden simply replied, “It means another competition I have to work hard for.” With the support and inspiration of his family, coaches, and excellent athletes, there is no doubt that Kaden’s hard work will pay off in the upcoming season!
