15,000 Spectators and 2,500 Athletes, 38 States = Rocky Mountain Nationals March 17, 18, 2017

The Rocky Mountain Nationals is still the biggest wrestling tournament in the Rocky Mountain Region. Seventeen years ago the tournament gave birth to an idea and from there it has grown to become a mainstay in Denver, Colorado.

March might seem like the time of year for escaping the cold and heading someplace warm and sunny for spring break.  But thousands of dedicated and determined young wrestlers from all across the country will make the trip to Denver, CO to compete in the Rocky Mountain Nationals.  Up against the best and toughest competition in the USA, these wrestlers lay it all on the line for the chance to be reigning champion and win a Triple Crown or one of the more elusive awards including; the Golden Gear, the RMN Championship Belt or the Ring of Fame.

Hosting competitors and spectators from around 38 states, Rocky Mountain Nationals is the largest wrestling event in the entire Rocky Mountain Region.  “It is common to see brackets with over 20 high school state champions and many coaches agree this event hosts the toughest youth competitors in the entire U.S.A.” said Adam Gutierrez, President of RMN Events. What started 17 years ago has become a wrestling tournament that thousands look forward to attending.  Taking place at the National Western Complex, March 17-19, we expect to see 2,500 competitors on the mats and some 15,000 spectators in the stands.  It will be an incredible weekend filled with a complete laser light show and the absolute best amateur wrestling in the country!

This will be the second year that Rocky Mountain Nationals will offer new divisions including:

Friday: Freestyle
Friday: Folkstyle Duels for Middle School and High School
Saturday: Folkstyle tournament for Men & Women’s elementary, middle school and high school & Open
Sunday: Folkstyle finals for regular divisions
